Apply NOW

Thanks to generous donors and grant funding, Challenge Aspen is able to offer scholarships for families or individuals in need of financial assistance to participate in programs. We ask that you and/or your family please pay what you can and only ask for what you need. This will help our funding continue to be available to everyone who needs it.

Please note: Scholarship recipients need to arrange their own transportation and lodging as those services are not provided.

Scholarship applications can be submitted at any time, but to guarantee availability of funds for seasonal programs, please submit your application by December 1st for winter programming or June 1st for summer programming.

For questions, please contact us at info@challengeaspen.org, or call the office at 970.923.0578.

winter scholarship program guidelines
  1. Purpose: The goal of the Challenge Aspen scholarship program is to promote equitable access to adaptive recreation by ensuring that every person eligible and interested in experiencing a Challenge Aspen program or offering can do so regardless of their ability to pay. Thanks to generous donors and grant funding, Challenge Aspen offers scholarships for families or individuals in need of financial assistance to participate in programs. We encourage applicants to pay what they can and only request what they need to ensure funds are available for everyone who requires assistance.
  1. Award Distribution: Upon approval of your scholarship application, recipients will receive their award acknowledgment letter outlining the details of the award. Please allow the Program Director and program services team up to 7 days to process and distribute an award. We appreciate your patience during this time as we strive to ensure fair and efficient distribution of funds.
  1. Application Process (Key Dates): Scholarship applications can be submitted at any time. However, to guarantee availability of funds for seasonal programs, please submit your application by December 1st for winter programming and June 1st for summer programming.
  1. Limited Funds: Our available funds are limited, so we encourage applicants to carefully assess their needs and request support only for the specific programs they require. Applicants can apply for scholarships for up to 7 days of lessons. Scholarships are awarded on a financial need sliding-scale, and all recipients are required to contribute a portion of the program or lesson fees.
  1. Booking Details: In order to guarantee instructor availability and fair distribution of the scholarship fund, Challenge Aspen requests that scholarship recipients book their lessons within two weeks of receiving their award letter. We understand that plans may change, and commit to working with you to accommodate any requested changes to your booking to the best our ability. Please note that a reservation is not confirmed until we have received payment as outlined in the award letter.
  1. Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel a scheduled lesson, you must provide at least a 48-hour notice prior to the lesson or program date to receive a refund of your fees. Any cancelations within 48-hours of the lesson or program will not be eligible for a refund of fees. This allows us to accommodate other reservations and properly budget resources for the season.
  1. Transportation and Lodging: Please note that scholarship recipients are responsible for arranging their own transportation and lodging.
  1. Rolling Fund: Scholarship funding is limited. We encourage applicants to only request what they need to ensure the fund remains available for others who require assistance.

By adhering to these guidelines, we can ensure that our scholarship program continues to support individuals and families in accessing Challenge Aspen programs. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
