CAMO Partner Programs

Challenge Aspen Military Opportunities is proud to partner with the US Department of Veteran Affairs, Department of Defense, and other veteran serving 501C3 non-profits to provide an amazing, impactful adaptive recreation experience for the veterans they serve who live with a service-connected disability. Partner programs are run in the same way as our open enrollment programs – with a focus on teaching adaptive outdoor recreation activities, providing personal wellness tools, and creating a space to build community.

Partner programs are filled at the discretion of our partnered organization. In certain cases, spots unable to be filled by our partners can be supplemented by CAMO open enrollment applicants.

If you, or an organization you are connected to, want to discuss a possible partnered program with CAMO, please reach out to the CAMO Director, Nate Gillette at ngillette@challengeaspen.org.

The following are the partner programs for the Winter 23/24 season.

Operation Healing Forces

OHF provides a suite of programs for the SOF community to aid operators and their families given decades of perpetual combat operations, increased suicides, and an alarming divorce rate. Even though SOF make-up roughly less than 5% of the DoD and are comprised of the US military’s most elite, SOF has the highest casualty, divorce, and illness rates amongst all services.

SOCOM Warrior Care Program
The USSOCOM Warrior Care Coalition was established in 2005 to provide Special Operations Forces (SOF) Wounded, Ill, or Injured Service Members and their families advocacy after life changing events in order to navigate through recovery, rehabilitation, and reintegration as quickly as possible, strengthening SOF readiness.  Whether you are returning operational status, moving into a different field or transitioning into veteran status, the USSOCOM Warrior Care Program (Care Coalition) will help you get there.

Wounded Warrior Project

The Wounded Warrior Project® (WWP) Adaptive Sports program empowers warriors to unleash their highest potential by participating in modified athletic opportunities designed for their individual abilities. Through single-day and multi-day clinics, warriors learn to use adaptive sports equipment and develop athletic skills. Additionally, warriors are introduced to seasoned adaptive sports athletes and connected with local resources. This lays the groundwork for them to continue improving their physical fitness while connecting with other veterans and their community through sport.

Fort Carson Soldier Recovery Unit

The Fort Carson Soldier Recovery Unit (SRU) enhances the readiness of the 4ID/Fort Carson Team by providing mission command, primary care, and case management for Soldiers in Recovery to establish conditions for healing and promote the timely transition back to the force or civilian life.

Walter Reed National Military Medical Center

The Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC), often known as the Bethesda Naval Hospital and Walter Reed, is a United States’ tri-service military medical center in Bethesda, Maryland, close to the National Institutes of Health’s headquarters. It is one of the most well-known US military medical clinics in the Washington, D.C. metro region and the United States, having serviced multiple US presidents over the twentieth century.
