Thank you for your interest in Challenge Aspen’s scholarship program for the WINTER 2018-19 season. Challenge Aspen offers scholarships twice a year, in the summer and winter seasons. You must apply each season in order to be eligible for a scholarship for that season. Applying for a scholarship or receiving a scholarship in the past does not guarantee that you will be accepted for a scholarship this season. Scholarship awards are based on financial need. You will be notified upon review of your scholarship request, at which time we ask that you take responsibility for making your reservations as early as possible!
Challenge Aspen strives to make our activities accessible to as many participants as possible. We fundraise year round to provide scholarship opportunities. ALL of our program prices, by default, include a significant scholarship. As an example, our charges for a one-day, private lesson are TBD for the winter 2018-2019 season, which includes a PSIA Adaptive Certified Instructor, all equipment and a lift ticket, and in some cases an adaptive assistant. Challenge Aspen does not pass along the overhead expenses, which, in this case would equal $1,250. We ask that you consider this when requesting a scholarship, assisting us in our goal to provide possibilities for as many of those with disabilities as possible. Thank you!
SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS ARE ACCEPTED ON A ROLLING BASIS, HOWEVER, THE MAJORITY OF FUNDS ARE AWARDED TO THOSE APPLYING ON OR BEFORE NOVEMBER 15TH
TESTIMONIALS FROM WINTER SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS
“Thank you for the scholarship to let me go out to snowboard this season. Every time that I am on my snowboard, I feel free as a bird. When I am out on the hill with my friends having fun, my disability disappears.”
“I wanted to thank you all for that wonderful scholarship! Bridget, my guide, and Kathy, my instructor that I had during my exciting vacation, were both perfect. I could not have done it without all your help!”
“I enjoyed skiing with Challenge Aspen volunteers and instructors on my recent visit in January 2016. I need Challenge Aspen’s help to continue skiing and hope I can continue despite my limitations.”
“Through your organization and the employees, interns and volunteers that give their time and energy; you offer so much for so many. For those of us with physical challenges, the gift of movement is such a treasure. What a blessing that I received a scholarship to ski this past winter.”
“How do you begin to say thank you to someone who makes it possible for your special needs son to experience the best weeks of his year?”
