Challenge Aspen Invites Children with Autism to Rocky Mountain Fun

June 25-29 and July 23-27, 2007

Snowmass, Colo. (June 5, 2007) - - Rafting, rock climbing, scavenger hunts, swimming, hiking, fishing, horseback riding and gondola rides are only a part of the Rocky Mountain fun offered by Challenge Aspen to children with autism (8-21) during Challenge Aspen Outdoor Adventure Day Camps this June 25-29 and July 23-27.

Participants gain a sense of personal growth and self-empowerment and are given the opportunity to learn and socialize with other children with autism. Challenge Aspen professionals create a safe setting for children with autism to experience a sense of wonder and adventure, establishing a community of friends in a supervised, structured program. Each camp provides four days of recreation, meals and activities for a cost of $550, inclusive.

An Individualized Therapeutic Recreation Package is available for an additional cost of $120 for the week. Challenge Aspen Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialists (CTRS) provide individualized assessments, help set personal goals for each child and offer after care planning and evaluation, specific to each child whose family is interested in that assessment.
