REC Updates!

It’s been a couple of months since I’ve written a blog post – I figured I’d take some time to update you on the highlights from our programs department!
We’ve got 48 days left in the 2013-14 ski season. The snow has been amazing, and we are on track to break the Challenge Aspen record for being the busiest season since opening the doors in 1995. We’d like to thank our amazing instructors, interns, volunteers, year-round staff, and most importantly our ATHLETES for making this the best season ever!!
Our first ChAMP (Challenge Autism and Making Possibilities) Camp is coming up March 17-21st. We have 1 spot available. It’s going to be an amazing experience and our inaugural group of athletes are going to have a blast! There are a few spots available for our March 24-28th program as well. Contact Sally Anne Harrell at sallyanne@challengeaspen.org to register!
After a month of interviews, we have finally been able to name Challenge Aspen’s 2014 Summer Adaptive Sports Interns. We’d like to welcome Nancy Lynn McCabe from Tallahassee, Florida, Kaleigh Duffey from Omaha, Nebraska, and Jay Slater from Buffalo, New York to our team for the upcoming summer season! These three made it through the grueling application and interview process and showed that they have what it takes to serve as key members of our staff. These guys will help us implement all summer camps and programs, in addition to completing individual and group projects, special events assistance, and learn the in’s and out’s of life in a non-profit. We’re thrilled to have them on staff and can’t wait to see how they impact our organization and our participants!
The dates are up for our 2014 summer camps! We’re have early-bird specials going until May 1st so be sure to register to save some moolah!  Find out more about our camps, including registration information, at www.challengeaspen.org.
I hope everyone is having a great winter season!  We’ll be working hard for these last 48 ski days….but it’s most definitely time to think SUMMER! Bring on the rafting season!
